Center for Underwater Archaelogy
The Centre for Underwater Archaeology (CUA) is a National Cultural Institute, an independent legal entity on a subsidiary budget by the Minister of Culture of the Republic of Bulgaria. The center is an advisory and consultative body to the Minister of Culture in the field of underwater archeology and UWCH. The main tasks of the Institute include the study, protection, communication, and management of underwater cultural heritage in the Bulgarian territorial waters and exclusive economic zone in the Black Sea as well as in the internal water basins of the Republic of Bulgaria. Currently the CUA is engaged in various activities in UWCH research and cultural resource management. The Centre owns three survey vessels (ship and two boats) equipped with modern geophysical equipment, full set of diving and research equipment and relies on an interdisciplinary team of specialists.

Institute of Information and Communication
Technologies – Bulgarian Academy of Sciences
The Institute of Information and Communication Technologies (IICT), Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (BAS) was registered on 1st July 2010. It was established as a result of BAS reforms, as recommended in the International Evaluation of BAS performed by the European Science Foundation/ALLEA (2009). IICT-BAS is the only Bulgarian academic institution whose predecessors had been granted twice the label Centre of Excellence (CoE) under European Commission’s Framework Programmes FP5 and FP6. In 2012-2016 IICT successfully completed the FP7 Capacity REGPOT project AComIn (Advanced Computing for Innovation) that has been included in the book Achievements of FP7. As a provider of HPC services, the institute is National Representative in the EU Research Infrastructure PRACE (Partnership for Advance Computing in Europe). IICT coordinates two national Research Infrastructures (RI) from the National RI Roadmap, funded by the Bulgarian Ministry of Education and Science: the National Centre for High Performance and Distributed Computing and the National Interdisciplinary Research e-Infrastructure CLADA-BG for resources and technologies for the Bulgarian linguistic and cultural heritage, integrated within the EU RIs CLARIN and DARIAH. These leadership positions place IICT at the core of the present Bulgarian R&I activities in the fields of HPC, AI, Digitisation and Digital Transformation. IICT has permanent academic staff of 100 researchers, 50 PhD students and numerous temporary collaborators in various projects. The institute performs yearly more than 30 projects in HPC and AI.

Balkan Heritage Foundation
Balkan Heritage Foundation (BHF), Bulgaria is a non-profit cultural organization operating in the area of cultural heritage research, preservation, communication, management and education. It was established in 2008 by three archaeologists: Ivan Vasilev, Angela Pencheva and Nayden Prahov. In addition to Bulgaria, the Foundation is currently active in Greece, Montenegro, and North Macedonia. Through programming and communication, the Balkan Heritage Foundation supports the study, preservation, protection, management, and utilization of cultural heritage in SE Europe and adjacent regions. The vision over the next 10 years is to build greater global appreciation and solidarity for the cultural treasures in our region, to attract new resources for their study and preservation and to pursue global collaborations in benefit of the cultural heritage of SE Europe. BHF’s supporters include J.M. Kaplan Fund; Institute for Field Research (USA); European Commission; Bulgarian Ministry of Culture; major donors and over 2,000 individuals from across the globe.
